This volunteer position offers support to victims of sexual assault at the time of their medical exam (SANE exam) and possible police report at all Washington County Hospitals and other medical facilities. The advocate is responsible for providing emotional support as needed and information about FRIENDS services and other community resources for victims and their families.

 

Volunteer Training includes:

• Basic FRIENDS training

• Completion of FRIENDS Sexual AssaultVictim Advocacy curriculum

• Tour of hospital SANE units

• Shadowing three SANE calls with an experienced advocate or staff member

Total = 16 hours of training
